Bereavement & Grief
A loss or bereavement can take some time to process. Grief is not just about death, it can be loss of a relationship, loss of a job or any significant life transition.
We all know that grief takes time. Kubler-Ross(2004) talks in great detail about the stages of grief.
There are seven stages: shock and disbelief, denial, guilt, anger, bargaining, depression and eventually acceptance. These stages don’t work in a nice tidy order, and you can go in and out of different stages.
Hypnotherapy is not about “fixing” someone’s grief, it’s about helping to manage the grief. In a calm and relaxed state, you can reduce any negative feelings and gain the strength to deal with the grief experienced. It can also provide a release from grief.
