Counselling for Anxiety in Norwich and Online

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, confusing, and at times exhausting. You might find your mind racing, your body on edge, or a constant sense that something isn’t quite right—even when you can’t put your finger on why.
For some, anxiety shows up as overthinking, difficulty sleeping, or feeling unable to switch off. For others, it might feel more physical—tightness in the chest, a knot in the stomach, or a sense of restlessness that’s hard to settle.
However it shows up for you, it often makes sense when we take the time to understand it.
How I work with anxiety
In our work together, we won’t try to “get rid” of anxiety quickly or push it away. Instead, we take the time to understand what it might be trying to communicate.
I work at your pace, creating a space where you can begin to feel safer in your body and more able to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. Often, anxiety has deeper roots—linked to past experiences, stress, or patterns that have developed over time.
We might gently explore:
-
What triggers your anxiety
-
How it shows up in your body and thoughts
-
The patterns that keep it going
-
What helps you feel more grounded and steady
Alongside this, I integrate trauma-informed approaches and may draw on ways of working that help you connect more deeply with your emotional experience. This can support you in building:
-
A greater sense of safety and stability
-
Tools for emotional regulation
-
Understanding rather than fear of your anxiety
A Different Relationship with Anxiety
Over time, many clients find that anxiety begins to feel less overwhelming. Not because it has simply disappeared, but because they feel more able to understand it, respond to it, and not be controlled by it.
This work is not rushed. It’s about building something steadier and more sustainable—so you can feel more like yourself again.
